Composed of twelve episodes lasting between four and eight minutes, the series explores the stories behind words like “mae,” “¡upe!,” “pargo,” and even “polo”, as well as expressions such as “amarrar el perro” or the Costa Rican habit of adding the famous diminutives “tico” or “illo” to words. More than just a history of Costa Rican slang, the series also humorously reflects on the country’s national idiosyncrasy—its virtues as well as its few forgivable flaws.
