Selva, a 13-year-old girl, lives in a coastal Caribbean town. While growing up, she tries to hold her family together, but this becomes increasingly difficult. Her father seems gone for good, Elena—her only maternal figure—disappears at a village party, and her grandfather, delirious with visions of nonexistent goats, begins to fade away. Amid imaginary landscapes and mysterious shadows, Selva must decide whether to help her grandfather fulfill his final wish, even if it means facing the end of her own childhood alone.
