The Pacific Marine Park is an inter-institutional organization led by the Ministry of Environment, Energy, and Telecommunications (MINAET). It features green areas for family enjoyment, water play areas (fountain-style jets), and a swimming pool for both adults and children. There is also a small soda (snack bar) on-site. The park occupies the land where the Pacific Railroad yards and station once stood. Outdoor exhibits include reptiles, caimans, tortoises, and crocodiles. There are twenty-two aquariums housing around 30 native species from the Gulf of Nicoya.
